One weekend. One city. One of five homecoming concerts by Oasis in Manchester.

This series was created during the band’s long-awaited comeback performances in their hometown. Rather than focusing on the stage itself, the photographs document the atmosphere surrounding the event — the streets, the anticipation, the waiting crowds, and the quiet intensity before and after the music.

Shot in black and white and never from the photo pit, the work combines street photography and concert documentary photography. It observes what happens beyond the spotlight: soaked festival ponchos, restless movement, shared glances, urban stillness between waves of sound.

The images were taken in and around Heaton Park, where thousands gathered to witness the band’s return to their home city. Instead of documenting performance, the project focuses on collective presence — on the emotional landscape created by live music in public space.

This body of work forms part of an ongoing documentary exploration of sound, crowd dynamics, and urban identity.
